How we look after your Personal Data
The GDPR is an EU-wide data protection law from May 25, 2018, replacing the previous Data Protection Directive from 1995. The GDPR regulates all processing of personal data for residents in the European Economic Area (EEA). It applies to companies operating in the EEA and to companies outside of the EEA that process personal data of those living in the EEA.
For online orders:
For online orders, we collect your name, email address, telephone number, billing address and dispatch address. In respect of any payment details, we will only ever store your payment type, the last four digits of your card details and expiry date. This data will only be used to process your order using our payment partners (PayPal or Stripe Inc or Klarna Bank AB) secure payment platform systems. We also collect records of email correspondence (including further information we may request from you) when you contact us to request information, report a problem, or provide feedback on our products and services.

How we use your information?
We will use your information to provide you with information about your appointment and your purchase. We also will use your information for internal record keeping, billing, and accounting and market research purposes. If you have sent us with any queries via email or phone regarding our website or our products/services we will use your information to respond to you. If you give us feedback (in the form of testimonials and photographs), we may use it to improve our services and we may publish it online or offline to promote our business and our services. We will ask for permission before publishing.

Our websites are hosted by Shopify Inc. with SSL certificates for all our domains https://www.sheffieldsteelrings.co.uk. With SSL enabled automatically, visitors can access a constant, secure connection on every page of our site. Through SSL, visitors see a lock icon next to our URL in the browser, showing that their information is safe. This encrypts and protects any data that you send us online. We follow the AIB Merchant Services Operating Guide which forms a part of our Merchant Agreement and contains the procedures that need to be followed regarding card acceptance. All businesses that accept payment by credit and debit cards must follow the procedures set out by the Card Schemes, AIB Merchant Services our Acquirer and the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). These standards exist to protect both the retailer and customers. We follow some basic procedures that are strictly enforced by the Card Schemes and have to be validated regularly by the PCI DSS.
