What metals can you make rings in?
Our rings are available in Stainless Steel, Titanium, Tungsten, Tantalum, Cobalt and Damascus Stainless Steel. For more information on our individual metals, please read our guides which can be found on the specific metal pages.
For our Stainless Steel, we use 316L stainless which is "Marine Grade". Stainless steel does not stain, corrode, or rust like ordinary steel. It's a hard, grey white coloured metal. Stainless Steel was created in Sheffield and we are proud to use it in Sheffield today!
If you're looking for precious metal rings, please shop our sister site here.
What is Damascus Stainless Steel?
Damascus Steel is made from two grades of Stainless Steel which are forge welded together under immense pressure and heat. The steel is continuously chopped and folded during the manufacturing process. It's then either twisted, folded or manipulated to achieve the patterned effect.
Due to the nature of Damascus steel, no two rings will ever be the same so every ring is truly unique. With this in mind please be aware that the pattern and depth of shading on your ring may vary slightly to that shown (but will still look awesome!)
can i wear your rings next to a precious metal ring?
We always recommend that if you'd like to wear two rings on the same finger, that they are made from the same metal. If you have any questions about which metal to order your ring in, email us at email@example.com.
I don't know my ring size, what do I do?
No problem, just pick the "Send Me A Free Ring Sizer" option as you add your ring to your basket. Then we will send out a free ring sizer to work out your size. For more info on this, click here.
Do you do bespoke/custom pieces?
Can you resize my ring if I order the wrong size?
Yes and no! We can stretch rings up around 1 size but we can't go down easily. If you wish to contact us to talk over this more, please message us here.
If you've recently bought your ring and it just doesn't feel right, get in touch and we will discuss your exchange options.
Is Stainless Steel durable? Can I wear it in the shower?
Yes! Very! As a jewellery retailer our "official advice" would be to take it off for any physical activity. Ollie has been wearing his ring for six years, he may have been known to chop wood and mountain bike with it on, although this isn't our official advice 😉
Your Stainless steel ring will not rust, so it's fine to wear in the shower/water - don't panic in those "whoops it's still on!" moments.
What ring width should I buy?
The width of a ring's band is measured in millimetres. Our stainless steel rings are made in the most popular widths 5mm, 6mm and 7mm.
The standard band widths for most engagement rings for would range from 1.5mm or 2mm up to perhaps 3mm. Whereas, wedding rings or bands are normally slightly wider from perhaps 3mm to 8mm. Traditionally ladies rings are narrower than gentleman's rings.
Can I add a personalised engraving?
Would you like to add an additional personal engraving* (up to a maximum of 30 characters including spaces, or 20 characters on cufflinks) please type exactly what you want in the Engraving box. Please, be careful to type in Capitals or Lowercase as you wish the engraving to appear.
The laser engraving on the inside of your ring adds about 1 week to the delivery time.
You could write a special message, nicknames, the date of your wedding or your initials for example. We engraved our rings with a nice, clean, simple font such as Helvetica.
*Please be aware, if you choose to add a personal engraving to your ring and the wrong size is ordered, exchanges are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may be subject to an administration charge.
Can I change the ring I've ordered? It's too big or too small?
All of products are made to order especially for you, and are therefore not subject to a 14 day return or exchange period. However, if you order the wrong ring size we will do our best to resize it for you or exchange it wherever possible. All exchanges are reviewed on a case by case basis and may be subject to an administration fee.
Goods that are personalised and engraved to your specific requirements are custom orders, which means that the item will be made, personalised or customised especially for you; because of this, these pieces of jewellery cannot be exchanged or returned under any circumstances.
The only exception to this would be if upon receiving the item a fault is present please contact us within a 14 day period. For more information click here.
What sizes do you make your rings in?
We make our slimmer 2.5mm and 3mm rings in sizes I - Z, whilst our other wider pieces are available from M - Z+2. Our Signet ring is available in sizes K - Z.
Not sure of your ring size? Select "Send me a free ring sizer" in the ring size field below. After you have checked out, we will pause your order, send you a ring sizer and then re-start your order when we have heard from you.
Please remember that your fingers change size a little being smaller when cold compared to when warm. They may also change over a day from morning to evening. We suggest you try the ring sizer on at different times of the day and when your hands are at normal temperature.
If you require a different size these can be made through our bespoke service please use the Contact Us form.
